BOOKING CONDITIONS

The Company referred to is Heyford Wharf Ltd, trading as Oxfordshire Narrowboats.

1. A booking is confirmed only when full payment has been received, and an acknowledgement sent to you. No credit facilities other than credit cards will be allowed, unless by prior written permission.

2. All payments are non refundable, and no claim for refund shall be entertained by the Company except as Condition 8.

3. You are not permitted to bring on to, nor use on, the boats any gas cylinder, (hot) barbeque, 240V electrical equipment, or any item which may cause harm or inconvenience to the boat, its occupants, or other canal users.

4. We reserve the right to refuse a booking or allow you or your party to take out the boat(s) if in our opinion you are either unfit (especially through alcohol or drug abuse) or unsuitable to safely navigate the boat. No refund shall be due.

5. Should, whilst the boat is hired to you, we have reason to believe you are i) carrying more passengers than the boat's capacity or ii) not navigating safely or responsibly, we reserve the right to terminate the hire immediately. All monies paid (including the damage deposit) shall be forfeited and no further claim shall be entertained by the Company.

6. In the event of an accident you must inform the Company immediately.

7. In the event of collision or injury to any third party, their craft or property, you must inform the Company immediately. You shall not under any circumstances accept any responsibility on behalf of the Company and must take a written note of the name and address of any third party involved which must be given to us upon your return.

8. We reserve the right to cancel any hire for which, due to circumstances beyond our control, it has become impossible to carry out. In such circumstances the hire fee shall be refunded in full: no further claim whatsoever shall be entertained by the Company.

9.The Company shall not be responsible for any loss, damage, or injury to the hire party or possessions, howsoever caused.

10. Your cash deposit is only returnable once you have vacated the boat and left it in a clean and undamaged condition, and provided we have had no complaints about your boating that day. In the event of a complaint/s being made we will retain the deposit for a maximum of 5 working days and will only refund and balance after reasonable deductions. See also conditions 11 and 12.

11. Breakages or damage caused to the boat or its contents shall be charged on a new/replacement basis and shall be deducted from the damage deposit before return.

12. Late return, i.e. after 5.30pm, of the boat(s) shall incur a charge of £50 for the first 30 minutes or part thereof, or the entire deposit after 6pm.

13. Should the boat be returned in a dirty or untidy state a cleaning charge of £50 shall be levied.

14. The Company reserves the right to alter prices should any relevant government tax or rate of tax alter. In such circumstances you shall have no right of cancellation and no refunds shall be given.
