Based on the summit of the Kennet & Avon Canal she offers sublime cruising opportunities on the K&A, Rivers Thames & Wey, and on the Basingstoke Canal.

Merryweather is probably one of the best appointed inland barges available for self steer hire on an extended basis in the UK.

’Merryweather’, has a reverse layout i.e living and galley areas to the stern, and a spacious covered cruiser stern. She is fully equipped for luxurious private extended cruising with a large living room featuring a comfy sofa, superb Club Chair, smart TV and a solid fuel fire for colder weather.There are fold-down lounge - and separate aft-deck - dining tables, a generous bathroom, king sized master cabin with full wardrobe space, enclosed forward deck/cockpit, and finally a large stern deck with comfortable perch seats and mood lighting to suit your occasion. The Galley is huge, with stone worktops, Belfast sink, fridge & freezer, and all other mod cons.

An optional fold-down single or double Z-bed can be provided for up to 2 extra occasional guests/visitors, set up in the living area each night 

  Based at Burbage Wharf on the Kennet and Avon Canal, Merryweather is priced at little more than 50% the cost of hiring a similar wide beam holiday boat for four individual weeks or more - ideal for exploring all around the southern waterways.

Full training, tuition, and all equipment/inventory provided within the hire fee. The only extras are fuel, gas, and any extra licences you may need for non-CRT waterways such as the River Thames.

Please note:  Minimum crew required is 2pp – we cannot hire to solo boaters. We only hire for genuine bonafide long term cruising, for a minimum period of one month in monthly increments. We do not hire for long-term houseboat or static liveaboard purposes (such as around Oxford for students, nurses etc) unless you are able to provide a registered, legitimate, canal mooring address and we can verify that mooring as being compliant with navigation authority regulations.
