Our sister company, White Horse Boats, operates from historic Devizes Wharf and exclusively offers hires headed east along the Vale Of Pewsey toward and along the Kennet Valley. From Devizes you have 15 miles of lock-free canal from which to soak up the rural beauty and immerse yourself in the local villages and pubs along the way.
The boats are either 2/4 berth or 4/6 berth – built by us to be similar to our Oxfordshire Narrowboats and offer the advantage that being based further east than our Bradford Wharf, and above the 29 Caen Hill locks, there is a lot less effort required to get you headed toward the central and eastern sections of this stunning waterway.
Weekend Breaks can be lock free if you wish: at the other end of the scale in two weeks you may wish to travel the whole waterway to Reading with its 50 plus locks, and return…although we think you’ll prefer a more relaxed fortnight as far as Newbury!
Great walking and cycling opportunities along this peaceful, rural section of the canal – and plenty of villages and pubs to visit make this a favourite holiday for many.
